Benefits of Blogging

If you're considering the possiblity of being able to earn an income from blogging, there are many benefits, although don't expect overnight success.  There is much work involved before you will actually start to see any money come in.  One important thing to remember is that if you are going to blog, you should limit individual blogs to one specific topic.  If you try to be too generalized, you won't get a targeted audience, and chances of success will be reduced.

The greatest advantages of blogging, are that you are your own boss.  You can write what you want, when you want.  (Unless are a freelancer, actually selling your content to other companies).  And of course, along with being your own boss, comes the distinct possibility that you can also work wherever you want, as long as you have a place where you have Internet access.

This can be an especially good option for retirees looking for a way to supplement their income, or retirees that have decided to take up residence in foreign countries.  Be sure to check local laws regarding this type of engagement, but it most certainly can be a way in most places to add a little boost to your Social Security and/or Pension.

Also, retirees who have taken up residences in foreign countries, might do well to write blogs about their experiences relocating and actually living in foreign lands.  This is very helpful for people who may be soon-to-retire that might be considering relocating, and not sure where is the best place to go.
